Every time the suck my comp rolls around I never have a chance to snap any photos since I’m so busy judging, riding, and hanging out with all these dudes that I barely get to see. It was pretty much the same case this year BUT I actually managed to whip out my camera the day before and a little bit after the comp. Here’s just a random set I was able to snag. THATS RIGHT BABY, the 3rd annual Suckmycomp FGFS event is upon us. It’s going down next month on Saturday, August 25th at Stanton skatepark. We switched up the venue this year thanks to some harsh words of criticism via Mike Schmitt (who also made this dope ass flyer) and convinced me to switch it from the skatepark we’ve been doing it at the past two years (definitely for the better). It’ll be a $5 entry fee to compete in both pro and am classes and there will be a cash prize for 1st place in both divisions as well as a bunch of product to give out. Practice starts at 10am and the comp will begin at 11am. We will also be holding a best trick jam after the comp which is free of charge to enter. These Bigfot Quickies that have been coming out have been pretty entertaining. Number 3 features veteran Shane “Shmob” Hunt jibbing around the city. He’s been on the hustle lately progressing a ton, stoked to see more.
3rd episode of the Turf Tuesday series is the best one thus far. Tons of great clips from the squad in this one including Matt Reyes, Mike Schmitt, Ian Walker, and Shane Hunt. Along with some great riding, these dudes are real entertaining off the bike as well, that ender was gold. Slum’s riding has been getting cleaner and cleaner with every video I’ve seen of him lately, which didn’t seem like something that was possible, but sure enough it is. Mike’s riding is always one of my favorites to watch too. The double to bar at 2:00 was super clean, especially for someone who doesn’t throw bars that often. Stoked to see riding from Ian and Shane, dudes stay under the radar for the most part so it’s cool seeing them get some coverage. This edit rules and I’m excited to see more upcoming episodes of this series. Check this out for sure.
