Trick Track

Fukuoka Loco Coverage

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a contest out of Japan (or anywhere for that matter), but YSO put on the “Fukuoka Loco” competition this past weekend and it looked like a bunch of fun. It’s really great to see the Japan scene in full effect. They house some of my favorite riders and really bring a unique style to FGFS, so this really puts a smile on my face and great to see some dudes out there that I haven’t seen ride in a while.

The format on this is interesting. For one: they combined trick track and FGFS. Not sure how I feel about that since the styles are hard to compare, but still cool to see everyone together. The bracket style play is interesting too. That format hasn’t really been adopted in the states, maybe it could be cool to implement?

RSK ended up taking the win on this one with Takashi taking 2nd place. Some solid riding all around though. I got word that they’re doing another competition in Osaka next. Maybe see you there?

FIXED GEAR BOGOTA – SKRENCH

Okay, this seemed to come out of nowhere (but I’m not super in touch with the Colombian scene so maybe its been a big thing), but man this is a good. ass. video. So much fresh, quality footage with both familiar and new faces from down south. Tons of heavy tricks in this. Personally my favorite sections were from Esneider (2:00 mark) and Diego (10:25 mark), but the entire video is absolute quality. I know how much effort and time it takes to put a long video like this together so well done to Santiago for this. My only critique is that the sections ended super abruptly but other than that this is cut together well. Sit down and watch this, I promise you won’t regret it!
