Esteban In New York

While I was in New York in June, I had the pleasure of finally meeting the Colombian 700c shredder Esteban. I was familiar with his riding online, but watching him ride in person was extra fun. He charges everything with full speed with little regard for his own safety.

An important note with all this is that since I’ve left NY, Esteban has since been taken by ICE and deported back to Colombia. He was exposed to inhumane conditions and all of his things were abandoned in New York, leaving him to completely restart his life. Fuck ICE, help Esteban out on his Gofundme here, and check out the full gallery and write up after the jump!

We started at the Brooklyn Banks, which was a dream to ride. Esteban was trying a few tricks on it, some that we captured on video, and then this 180 bar that I wanted for a picture. He had these almost every time with consistency.

Next we stopped by the famous Blubba hubba, as seen in so many extreme sports videos and specifically in a lot of old Grime / WRAHW videos. The Ruff team had a few things go down on it but Esteban, the only one on 700c, was getting pedal feebles on it pretty consistently. It was scary watching him do it though cause he’s a bit of a liability on the bike.

On a different day, we went to the fish gap as seen in many WRAHW videos. While I don’t have any photos of Esteban trying to 180 it at 1000000 MPH (its on video though), I have the aftermath of his attempts, which is a snapped JBall Courttek frame. Its a good thing it didn’t break all the way through on the attempt.

Esteban is such a sick up and comer and it would suck to see his growth stunted because of this setback. Reminder to check out his GoFundMe here and check him out on IG here!
