In 2021 the Ruff team including myself, Matt, Corey, and Jackson tripped out to Atlanta to film for various projects including Corey’s amazing edit from 2023, FOAD Last Try, and my Still Here edit.
I documented some of the trip through photos and didn’t want to release them until the corresponding videos came out. Only problem is that I forgot to release most of the photos after every project released! So here are some of my Ruff Bike Co 2021 Atlanta trip photos.
Alongside the FGFS and Trick Track events that Balance is throwing this coming June is a Fixed specific photography competition! As a collab with Slow Spin, Balance is giving out prizes for the most special photo entries relating to Fixed Gear bikes. Entries are unlimited and submitted on Instagram.
Here are the full details for the competition:
In Collaboration with @slowspinsociety we are looking for the best creatives in the fixed gear world! Starting now until the 7th June, you have 8 weeks to capture a special moment with a fixed gear bike!
It can be yourself via a selfie, of your friend, a stranger, riding, jibbing, sitting at a cafe..
The only rule is a fixed gear bike must be featured in the photo.
The winners will receive clothing vouchers, a goodie bag with accessories and will be featured in a magazine.
This is open to Digital & Film (they will be prizes for both categories)
You can enter as many times as you like! To enter upload your picture(s) to Instagram and use the hashtag #StokedSSSPhotoComp25 or via our DM’s, include the message StokedSSSPhotoComp25 with your picture(s).
The panel of judges will showcase the short list pre-STOKED event and the winners will be announced on day one of the event (14th June). (Don’t worry if you won’t be in attendance on the 14th/15th, your entry is still valid – open to WorldWide entries)
We had to wait almost a year, but here’s some official coverage from last years Safety Third Trick Comp that went down in Eugene Oregon! Love seeing a bunch of faces that stay more under the radar absolutely shredding here. Reminder that this event is going down again this year on June 28th + 29th, full event details here!
The French viking aka Poney aka Lucas Sentou just dropped this fun little build and ride video of his Thrasher V1, which he says goodbye to at the end of this video because he broke it. RIp Poney’s Thrasher, you served him well. 🫡
Recently linked with our dude Miguel (Suck My Comp 3-time champion) to shoot some pics of him and his signature Master Hightek in his Clearest Blue colorway. Click into post for full rundown and gallery!
Probably our most requested guest, we’ve finally got the legend Matt Spencer on the podcast! We discuss his biking roots, rise to fame, sponsor and trip stories, beefs, filming, and everything in between.
Speaking of Cutters, Chris with Volume just dropped a bike check on his 2010 Volume Cutter V5 build! Chris is good at talking on camera so I really enjoyed his breakdown and reasons for why he runs the things he does. Great top tube pad too.
Volume just upped a beautiful new Patina colorway for the classic Volume Cutter frame! While I’ve not been loving all the special edition colorways they’ve been dropping (splatter isn’t my thing), I think this is easily their best special edition colorway yet. I love rusty looking bikes so this is a great gritty choice. More details here!
