Another bike check from 84Kick, this time featuring Ruff’s newest team rider, Ismael Lebrech!
Also just realizing that Satoshi dropped 4 bike checks in total from his Netherlands stay, also including SoCal local Troy Hawks and Fixated head honcho Ritchie van Pelt!
1 year since his last edit, Ismael just dropped some serious heat and progression on us! Having the pleasure of talking to Ismael and learning more about him really helps me understand how he’s gotten so good so quickly. His mind is entirely committed to progress and he will not stop until he learns something. The tech combos here are tough as nails and he isn’t afraid to go big either. Ismael is truly a great all around rider. If you told me Ismael has been riding for 10+ years, I’d still say he’s a great rider and this is a great video. For 3 years, this is NUTS (No BMX background either). Amazing work here for Ruff and Fixated
Late to posting this update cause I’ve had bad internet for the last two weeks, but Ruff Bike Co. has officially introduced its first international rider, Ismael Lebrech! I’ve known that Ismael is a great rider for a while now, but after getting the pleasure to see him ride in person, I can say that his dedication, passion, and intricate mind that he applies to our sport is nothing short of inspiring. I can’t imagine someone more deserving of support than this guy. Welcome to the team Ismael!
Crispy dropped some raws from last weeks session of Ismael’s persistence on this trick he was trying. Looking forward to seeing all the footage that he got from this week!
Extras from my recent 2024 “Waning” edit for Ruff Bike Co and Resist Parts. Thanks to everyone who held a camera and had the patience to work with me on some of these clips cause it was certainly not an easy video to pump out.
Since the new Ruff frames came out, Pizza has said goodbye to his iconic blue Ruff sample build. Here’s one last gallery and sendoff to commemorate it 🫡
Been waiting on this one!! Perfect timing too with the new frame drop. The whole Ruff crew sans myself got out to Idaho to eat some real potatoes and do some real bike tricks. This is one of the hardest hitting crews in Fixed Gear and while the spots in Boise weren’t anything too crazy, they made due and still got some really great tricks out there. Some of my personal highlights were Jacob’s 3:19 wheelie, Corey’s DANGEROUS wheelie to railhop at 8:30, Chase and Matt’s rock tricks at 14:15, Chase’s rail trick at 16:24, and Corey’s nosie to water to end it all. Such a fun video with a great soundtrack. Oh, and to top this all off, they got a legend to come out and dust his bike off: JONATHAN DAVIS! 9 years off the Fixed Gear bike and this dude hasn’t lost a step. Still some of the best tables and tuck nos around. Such a fun element to add!
BREAKING NEWS. The extremely highly anticipated Ruff Glimmer framesets are officially LIVE! I can confidently say that these are some of the highest quality frames I’ve had the pleasure of riding and both looks wise and geometry wise, you will not be disappointed.
With each frameset you get an option of either a black or chrome fork and the frames are available in 3 colorways: Dark Black (decals by Matt Spencer), Really Raw (decals by Corey San Agustin), and Gang Green (decals by Jackson Bradshaw). The decals on each colorway came out so great and if I wanted to buy one, I would personally have a very hard time choosing one.
Here’s what Ruff has to say about the Glimmer frames along with specs:
“You know when you have that ride: an epic adventure exploring a new city, a heavy session with a big crew, or maybe just a solo cruise in the neighborhood hitting curb cuts and your go-to spots? It’s the ride that completely consumes you and is both energizing and freeing. Maybe it disrupts something that you’re doing or thinking that isn’t settling, offers you an opportunity to catch up with someone you haven’t seen in a bit, prompts you take a different route and come across something new, or maybe just gives you some space to be in your head with your own thoughts and recharge.
All of these moments are essential parts of what draw us to pick up our bikes and keep pedaling. To us, a Glimmer is that moment when you recognize that you are present, focused, when the volume of everything else around you is silenced, and all that you are doing is riding your bike.
The frame and fork geometry was test ridden for three years and refined by Matt Spencer, Jackson Bradshaw, Chase Davis, Johnathan Ball, Chase Henley, and Jacob Ruff. We are really stoked to be able to share this bike! Both frame and fork are proudly made in Taiwan.”
Frame Specifications:
4130 heat treated chromoly tubing
2.35″ (60mm) max rear tire clearance
125mm tall head tube for use with standard integrated headset
Lots to check out on there, so i suggest poking around the new site and checking out some rider and product pages. Keep that Glimmer going and check out all of the above at Ruffbike.co!
Shot these of Chase during Suck My Comp 6, but luckily his bike hasn’t changed at all since so it’s still relevant! Full breakdown of Sam Sulek’s build after the jump.
Today we officially have our first recurring guest, Jackson Bradshaw! Myself and Deacon connected with Jackson in person while we were all in Oregon to have a casual chat about Last Try, inspirations, bike parts, and much more. Enjoy!
