SMC at WOODWARD WEST 2022

It was a fixie reunion at Woodward West in late December last year. We had heads from the north and south gather round to shred some bikes that don’t stop pedaling.

Featuring:

Johnathan Ball, Josh Boothby, an injured Kameren Boun, Matt “Bastard” Dizon, Troy Hawks, Chase Henley, Marco Marquez, Justin “Congo” Mitchell, Gus Molina, Lucas “Pizza Mayne” Petruzzelli, Josh Silva, Deacon Wong, Miguel Zendejas, and Special guest Antwaun!

MUST WATCH – CHASE DAVIS 2022 EDIT

YOU LOVE TO SEE IT. I’ve been preaching for a while that the web edit is dead. Well lucky for us, FOAD Gang is here to save us from an eternity of Instagram reels. Chase is one of my favorite riders, period. This edit really highlights why: smooth AF riding, creative lines, some big stuff mixed in too. So damn good. Personal favorites are the roof 360 at :48, scary barspin at 2:30, line at 3:12 (that X-Up looked so cool), and that feeble bar ender was a thing of beauty.

If you ride FGFS bikes, take after Chase’s lead and MAKE A WEB EDIT, because we need more! (No matter your skill level)

Chase Henley for Ruff Bike Co

Chase has been stacking clips for this edit since the end of CJTY filming. While most people will take a break after filming a big video section, Chase stayed hungry and just kept going. Chase is one of the most talented people to touch an FGFS bike in a long time. He can grind both sides equally, has no fear, and has a creative approach to spots. The mans is a complete package. Today, we are extremely proud to present his edit for Ruff Bike Co.

FIXED GEAR BOGOTA – SKRENCH

Okay, this seemed to come out of nowhere (but I’m not super in touch with the Colombian scene so maybe its been a big thing), but man this is a good. ass. video. So much fresh, quality footage with both familiar and new faces from down south. Tons of heavy tricks in this. Personally my favorite sections were from Esneider (2:00 mark) and Diego (10:25 mark), but the entire video is absolute quality. I know how much effort and time it takes to put a long video like this together so well done to Santiago for this. My only critique is that the sections ended super abruptly but other than that this is cut together well. Sit down and watch this, I promise you won’t regret it!

JAKE LANICH | WELCOME TO WHEEL TALK

Jake Lanich aka Brothalanich aka FIXIE MONTANA himself with a brand new welcome to Wheel Talk edit. Jake brings all his signature moves while Slum switches things up with his filming and keeps it fresh with some new angles. That man can super slider for days, check it!

Armaun Saheli for Master Bike Co

Such a nice surprise to see pop up this week! Armaun has been one of my favorite under the radar dudes to watch for a long time, so I was really excited to see that Master Bike Co thought the same thing and decided to snag him up for their team. Armaun has a unique gritty style that’s really exciting to watch. You’re never really sure what he’s gonna pull on any given setup. It’s not the prettiest, but it doesn’t have to be. Perfect riding is boring sometimes. What I also love about Armaun’s riding is that he keeps it fun. That’s what it’s all about. He keeps it jibby and fun throughout a lot of the video, but then there’s clips like 2:50 that make you say “wait what the fuck?” You’re gonna have to double take a lot with this video. Take it all in, rewind if you need to. I promise you it’s worth it. Also though. CAN WE TALK ABOUT THAT ENDER.. WHAT? That’s some BMX level stuff right there. Probably the last thing I was expecting him to do. Absolutely insane. Easily the sickest FGFS clip I’ve seen in a few years. Don’t sleep on Armaun and don’t sleep on Master!
