In today’s episode we replaced Deacon with the Netherland’s own Ritchie Van Pelt! We discuss all things Fixated, Europe scene, SMC rebranding, competitions, my trip to the UK and riding with the Pirates, roasting bikes, and more!
The Suck My Comp 5 for 2022 has officially come to a close. I’ll have some more words to write about it in the next post, but for now here’s the results from both pro and am:
AM:
1st – Oscar Lopez
2nd – Ritchie Vanpelt (Fixated)
3rd – Kameren Boun (Master Bike Co.)
4th – Max Vargas
5th – Danny Quiñonez
PRO:
1st – Miguel Zendejas (Master Bike Co)
2nd – Marco Marquez (Master Bike Co)
3rd – Chase Henley (Ruff Bike Co / Fixated / Merritt)
Ritchie Vanpelt is a rider you may or may not have heard of, but this dude is crazy involved in the scene. He runs the Fixated FGFS crew in Netherlands, designs his own products (he made me a custom axle for my Bombtrack hub), knows where to get just about any product you can’t find any more, is an admin for the PS BMX site, and more! He recently got a custom bike made by Ted James, the mastermind behind 14 Bike Co and it turned out beautifully and definitely one of the most unique bikes I’ve seen in a long time.
