Beautiful Bike | Ritchie Vanpelt’s Custom Ted James FGFS Build

Ritchie Vanpelt is a rider you may or may not have heard of, but this dude is crazy involved in the scene. He runs the Fixated FGFS crew in Netherlands, designs his own products (he made me a custom axle for my Bombtrack hub), knows where to get just about any product you can’t find any more, is an admin for the PS BMX site, and more! He recently got a custom bike made by Ted James, the mastermind behind 14 Bike Co and it turned out beautifully and definitely one of the most unique bikes I’ve seen in a long time.

“A three year project.

A lot of time and effort went into the creation of this frame and bike! After not being able the find a frame that really suited me, I gathered all my skills and knowledge from working in the high-end & custom bike business and cooked up the geometry and design for this frame. After 2 failed attempts with frame builders (one that could not deliver what i was looking for and the other shop closing its doors right before my build was planned after waiting in queue for about a year). I contacted Ted James Design (the mastermind behind 14 Bike Co.) and he was the right man for the job! Ted built the frame for me and its an absolute work of art! I never made a prototype apart from modifying an SE Showtime to get as close to this design as possible, but it was still a gamble! And but it worked out even better than expected! absolutely in love with it!!”
