Relive EVERY TRICK from Suck My Comp 7 like you were watching it live! First time we’ve decided to drop raw competition recap like this. Let us know if you like this! (Shorter highlight video to follow for easier consumption)
Late on this cause directly after the comps wrapped up last weekend, I went to Vegas with the Ruff crew for some filming! Anyways, here are the official results from Suck My Comp 7:
I’ll have more pictures, thoughts, and video recaps coming some time next week. Overall though, it was a really really successful event and a really good time with a bunch of people who share the same passion. It’s a tiring weekend, but always worth it. Stay tuned for more on this.
Olvotricks contest just went down in France after the Olvoween alleycat and there were some shredders throwing down! Some new names now on my radar and some familiar ones holding it down. Some highlights for me include Vitto’s fish n chip combo at 6:28, Lyonzon’s smooth style, and Mark’s aggressive consistency. I think Mark is now one of my favorite Trick Track riders, especially after meeting him and riding with him in the Netherlands. Oh and of course Jakub does his usual slaying. Fun stuff with some great energy!
DAMN. Okay, this might actually be the longest video that’s been released in Fixed Freestyle history. My guy Satoshi legit just dropped a real movie length video. There is WAY too much to call out for this video, but I watched it front to back and there are great moments, tricks, personalities, and everything in between from start to finish. Sit down and enjoy, and thank Satoshi for bringing us so much high quality content.
With Suck My Comp 7 around the corner, it prompted me to look at the content from last year’s event and made me realize that I never posted all of these amazing group shots we got on Trick Track day! We captured everyone in attendance and also got these cool shots of everyone with their Courtteks. If anyone was waiting for these, I’m sorry it took so long.
Join us again this year for FGFS and Trick Track action at Suck My Comp 7, registration and details here!
Sponsors and schedule are SET for the upcoming Suck My Comp 7 2 day event! Register here to compete! Shoutout to all of our amazing sponsors for helping make this year happen. See you all on November 16th + 17th!
Crispy just dropped his really fun edit from FIXIE WEEK in the Netherlands! Lots of coverage, riders, places, and antics. So much fun and so entertaining. Great angles too from the Crispy.
It’s still really hard to believe. Last week was one of the toughest weeks the Fixed Gear community has had to endure. We lost a legend, an innovator, a huge personality, and a good person, Edward Wonka Laforte. Mike Schmitt is hosting a ride in his memory in Brooklyn this Saturday. If you’re in the vicinity, you should really consider going.
Happy Tuesday. Details are officially set for the upcoming Suck My Comp 7 Fixed Gear trick competition! Our list of sponsors for the event is still growing, so we’ll announce sponsors soon.
FGFS EVENT (Saturday, November 16th, 2024):
Address: Schweitzer Skatepark, 218 S Bel Air St, Anaheim, CA 92804
10AM Start time, get there earlier if you want to warm up
We’ve decided to throw the FGFS event at a humble skatepark in Anaheim called Schweitzer! The skatepark allows for creativity and has a bit of terrain for everybody. The hits aren’t super obvious which in my opinion, will make for some fun takes on the park and different looking runs from everybody. Along with all of that, there is plenty of parking, grass and shade to hang out in, and the park is always empty.
For the Trick Track event, we’ve decided to host it at a very famous ditch spot in Long Beach. The bank will allow for people to go into fakie easily, there’s tons of space to work with, it’s much easier to get to than last year’s event, and you can even jump the bank to bank if you’re feeling ballsy!
It’s also important to note that this is not a city-approved event, which always runs the risk of being shut down. If this happens, we will refund all entry fees.
If you’re competing, please pre register here. It helps us with organization! Also, you’ll be charged $10 instead of $5 if you register day of.
Jakub recently hosted a really interesting event in France recently called the Trickcat, where “Participants received manifest with checkpoints (spots) on which they had to do tricks. Tricks had to be filmed and published on Instagram as a proof.” Really fun concept and cool video that came from it! Love anything really that brings the community together, more of this!
