The Ruff Sleeper is no more. Ruff Bike Co. head honcho Jacob Ruff gives us a rundown on his final Sleeper build. Although he’s currently on a different, new bike (new name is set, but confidential), it’s still worth giving the rundown on his previous build cause it was a good one. Full gallery, rundown, and words from Jacob after the jump!

Modifications: I cut the bars down 5mm each side and chopped the seatpost. Chainstay is wrapped because I didn’t want to scratch my bike.
Madness: Bar position. Once I set them, I won’t loosen the stem until I swap a part. The chain has to slap. 45 psi front and rear. Seat is as high as I can go and still touch the ground with my tippy toes. Straps and shoe laces have to be tight. I stretch my grips before putting them on.
Oldest Part: I’ve run this seatpost clamp for the past 10 years.
Parts you wear through the quickest: I end up replacing grips, pedals, and rear tires about every 3 months (Seattle has hills).
Last Barspin: At the time of these pictures, I was on a little dry spell but threw three during the SMC Comp weekend, thanks for the peer pressure
Notes: Huge thanks to Johnathan for taking these rad pictures and hosting me. After running this frame for over two and a half years, I’m stoked to have these pictures of the bike in its final form. I am sad to report however that we are officially putting the Sleeper to rest. We’ve been busy this past year working on something new. A big shout out to everyone that helps keep my bike running: Ruff squad, Jeremiah/Cecelia at Hold Fast and Mike at Merritt. One last holler to the Seattle crew!
Regards,
Jacob
