Big post incoming. Suck My Comp 6 is finished and was a massive success. Click into the post for competition results, weekend gallery, and a big sincere writeup from the bottom of my heart. Lets go!

Suck My Comp 6 weekend was seriously one for the books. The memories created this time around and the people I got to meet will stick with me for a very long time. A huge thank you to EVERYBODY who showed up and really made this happen. To Max from Australia, Satoshi from Tokyo, Hislow from Taiwan, Josh and Sara from Portland, the FOAD boys, the Seattle crew (Jacob, Tyler, Kareem), the Norcal dudes, the Oxnard crew, and all the locals, sincerely thank you so much for making it out all this way for a little event I wanted to put together. Also a huge thanks to Deacon, Pizza, baby Jacob, Jacob Ruff, Kareem, Jackson, Matt, and Corey for helping with things on the backend.

Lets start with the results for both days.

The weekend as a whole was an incredible one. This year was the first year we’ve made it a 2-day event, so I wanted to make sure everything went well. I took nearly the whole week off work just to ride and drive around hanging out with all the fixie folk that were in town. Max and Jacob were staying with me, so naturally I had to film a trip edit with Max, so look out for some 700c carnage in the near future.

We drove a bunch, rode a bunch, and had some seriously hectic moments. We had about different 30 contestants through both days and over 70 total people watching each day, easily making this our biggest turnout yet! On the Trick Track event day, lugging all the prizes and gear there was a serious pain in the ass. If you were just attending, it wasn’t too bad aside from the flats you may have gotten on the way in. But hauling tables, tents, and frame boxes out there was not easy. Shoutout to Pizza, Deacon, Max, and everyone else who helped me haul everything. Not sure if I’d put that on us again. Once we were there though, everything worked out great and nobody bothered us.

Max from Australia ended up taking the win in pro with absolutely flawless runs. Satoshi from Japan wasn’t far behind him with some serious Trick Track Keo Curry steez and tricks. The up and coming Chris Alzona followed with a 3rd place finish with some great combos that we’re used to seeing on IG. For AM, Josh from Portland came out of nowhere and tore up the huge banks. My man was FLYING up those banks and using the whole area to its full potential.

Day 2 for FGFS we thought would be easier, but the minute we got there and started setting up, park officials started hassling us about how we needed permits and insurance and blah blah blah. Ultimately all we had to do was break the tents down and put the tables away, then they stopped bothering us, which was cool. We put the megaphone and speakers away for a more silent event than usual, but that didn’t stop everyone from having a good time and absolutely SHREDDING.

It was really really close, but Chase Henley ended up squeaking out the win with Miguel coming incredibly close behind him. Both of them were doing incredibly technical tricks. 3rd place was the legend Matt Spencer, who was using the whole course better than most people and showing off his expert brake usage. Behind him was Chase Davis and Oscar Lopez, who made a solid pro debut. It was really tough to fill the last spot in top 5 actually. A few people who were really close to making top 5 included Jacob Ruff, Corey San Agustin, and Jimmy Watcha. Ultimately Oscar had the edge though.

For the AMs, Danny aka big daaaawg convincingly took the win. He was fearless on that course. Max from Australia was next up with squeaky clean lines over the whole park and PVN from the Bay Area came 3rd with some really dialed riding. The AM division this year was STACKED and had almost 20 entrants, so it was tough to fill the top 5. Young gun Max Vargas did enough to secure the 4th place spot and Troy Hawks showed out this year with some senders to land his first top 5 competition finish. Great job to all out contestants and thank you for putting on a show!

Last up for the weekend was the video premieres. We showed FIVE videos that are currently not released yet including edits from Max, Pizza, Matt, Corey, and myself. We had a cool little venue and people were stoked on the videos, look out for those coming to an internet near you soon!

Here’s a bunch of random phone pictures of the entire week. Memories made and good times were had. Look out for a small high res photo gallery, 2 competition highlights, Max’s SoCal trip edit, and more in the near future!
